Maia Vota is a filmmaker from Burlington, Vermont. She is currently studying film and television at Savannah College of Art and Design. Maia started making films at the age of 13 and has created numerous documentary and narrative shorts. In spring of 2019, she was the student winner of the AT&T Film Awards. That fall, her video about the Burlington High School soccer team’s #EqualPay movement, inspired by the U.S. women’s national soccer team, was featured in CNN, Sports Illustrated, and other national and local media outlets. Most recently, she worked as a TV Development Intern at Littleton Road Productions (Dr. Death, The Girl From Plainville) and a Content Planning & Scheduling Intern at HBO.
