ABOUT

Maia Vota is a filmmaker from Burlington, Vermont, and a recent graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design. She started making films at the age of 13 and has created numerous documentary and narrative shorts. In the spring of 2019, Maia was the student winner of the AT&T Film Awards. That fall, her video about the Burlington High School soccer team’s #EqualPay movement, inspired by the U.S. women’s national soccer team, was featured in CNN, Sports Illustrated, and other national media outlets. In 2022, she worked as a TV Development Intern at Littleton Road Productions (Dr. Death, The Girl From Plainville) and a Content Planning & Scheduling Intern at HBO. Most recently, she was a set production assistant on the films Juror #2, May December, and Eye for an Eye.
